Year 11 students of Pengiran Anak Puteri Hajah Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah Secondary School (SMPAPHRSB) were feted during a graduation ceremony at the school’s premises in Lumut, Kuala Belait District recently.
Senior Special Duties Officer (Professional) at the Department of Schools Haji Metusin bin Haji Jais was the guest of honour.
Assistant Head of Cluster Six of Schools Annie Sindai and SMPAPHRSB’s parents teachers association chairperson Haji Abdul Aziz bin Haji Abdul Gani were also present.
Acting principal Ismail bin Haji Mohamed Yakob said 56 students achieved five credits and above in their Brunei-Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level and IGCSE examinations, noting that school programmes such as Road to ‘O’ Level, Heroes and One2One Programme as well as extra classes had helped the students to prepare for their exams.
He also shared that 65 students scored grade A* and A’s and highlighted an increase in the number of students achieving five ‘O’ levels.
He also congratulated Year 11 BTEC students on completing their course in hospitality.
The Best Student Award was handed to Nur Sufiani binti Sufri, who scored 7 A’s and 2 B’s.
Prizes were awarded to students for their outstanding achievements, including the Best Comeback students and those who excelled in individual subjects. – Daniel Lim
