Students from several educational institutions gained insights into employment matters and opportunities during the first Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) Alumni Talk Series facilitated by the Office of Alumni Relations and Advancement (OARA).
Titled ‘From Science to Business: Journey from UBD Graduate to Financial Planner’, the talk was delivered by UBD alumnus Kelvin Pong Ming Onn in the presence of UBD staff, alumni and students from UBD, Politeknik Brunei, Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE), and Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Science College.
Being a graduate of BSc Biological Sciences and BA Economics, Pong started his career in an insurance company, and rose up the ranks to become a financial consultant. He developed himself by enrolling in UBD’s Masters of Business Administration (MBA) to help enhance his client’s lives through better financial management.
The UBD Alumni Talk Series aimed at giving guest speakers the opportunity to showcase their business or job scope as well as sharing their working experience with students, while also strengthening ties between alumni and the university.
