Glorifying of Ramadhan begins

Echoes of the Sunnat Tarawikh and Witir prayers were heard from mosques, suraus and religious halls nationwide last evening as Brunei Darussalam begins fasting in the blessed month of Ramadhan today.

It was followed by the recitation of Al-Quran in the Tedarus ceremony as congregants glorify the first night of Ramadhan.

Twelve shots of the cannon were fired from Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien in the capital yesterday by the Military Police of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF).

The nation begins fasting today after the new moon to determine the start of Ramadhan was not sighted on Monday.
