The Wargamas Association held a get-together in conjunction with the Islamic new year of 1444 Hijrah at the Bintudoh Green Spring Resort, Jalan Bukit Sulang, Kampong Lamunin in the Tutong District.
Some 71 members took part in the activity-filled day, making their way to the outdoor-themed venue via bus as early as 6.30am.
“The day is full of physical activities for members to be involved in as we encourage members to be more physically active especially at our age.
“Being more active and by adopting a healthier life style has a lot of benefits including the prevention of heart diseases, diabetes, high blood pressure,” said Wargamas President Haji Abu Bakar bin Haji Mohd Don.
“Apart from encouraging a healthier lifestyle, the recreation day is also aimed at strengthening the ties amongst members of the association through group activities as well as gaining more knowledge on the roles and responsibilities of the association,” shared Wargamas member and head of the organising committee for the event Hajah Sinega binti Haji Swadi.
The activities on the day included a syair reading competition, a merambat throwing contest, football darts, and quizzes for members to participate in and get a chance to win prizes.
Members also enjoyed the activities available at the Green Spring Resort which ranged from duck paddle boat rides to flying fox and jungle trekking.
