The ASEAN Engineering Register (AER) Brunei held a gathering for its members on Tuesday.
Minister of Development and member of AER Brunei Dato Seri Setia Ir Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Gafar attended. President of PUJA (Brunei) Ir Haji Mohd Zin bin Haji Salleh and Vice President Engineers Division, PUJA (Brunei) Ir Alice Lim were also present.
AER leader, Brunei Country Registrar Ir Dato Paduka Othman Yaakub emphasised the objectives and benefits of joining the ASEAN Engineering Register for Professional Engineers.
Attendees were also briefed on AER Brunei and its activities by Ir Julian Fung. He highlighted the benefits of being a member and the different tiers of memberships. He added, AER members should encourage other professional engineers, technicians and technologists to join, as it gives a professional recognition that is accepted by all 10 engineering organisations in ASEAN.
AER is a register of professional engineers, registered under the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organisations (AFEO) through the Institution of Surveyors, Engineers and Architects (PUJA) Brunei. Its main objectives are to facilitate the mobility and professional practice of its engineers with ASEAN, to promote the professional interests of engineers, and to promote cultural and professional links among members within ASEAN.
