Future prospects for IBTE students highlighted

Students from the Institute of Brunei Technical Education Sultan Bolkiah Campus (IBTE SBC) in Seria gained valuable insights into their future career prospects during a two-day Industry Engagement event focused on Industrial Attachment (IA) and Industrial Placement (IP).

The event, which began on August 7, provided an opportunity for students to interact with representatives from some of the nation’s most prestigious companies. The engagement was designed to equip students with essential information about job scopes and career pathways across various industries, helping them make informed decisions about their future.

Among the companies that participated in the event were Joffren Omar Co Sdn Bhd, Adinin Work and Engineering Sdn Bhd, SMES MATCO Sdn Bhd, Berakas Power Company Sdn Bhd, Velosi (B) Sdn Bhd, Muara Maritime Services Sdn Bhd, Mahkota Maju Sdn Bhd, Massutera Engineering Sdn Bhd, CJ Technical Services, Brunei Fertilizer Industries Sdn Bhd, SAHID Sdn Bhd, PY. OILTOOLS Sdn Bhd, Beta Testing Sdn Bhd, Reliability Services and Solution Sdn Bhd and Mozzat Enterprise Sdn Bhd.

Department of Electrical Services, and the Ministry of Defence also took part in the event.

The campus’s Academic Manager, Mohamad Zainor bin Haji Awang Zainal, attended the event.

Industrial Liaison Officer Muhammad Nur Hisham bin Haji Abdul Halim in his address, highlighted the importance of engagement with leading local companies in providing students with real-world experiences that are critical to their professional development.

“The objective of Industry Engagement for Industrial Attachment and Industrial Placement is to allow students to explore different companies and industries. These companies can share their work experience and scope with the students, making the selection process for Industrial Attachment or Placement smoother,” he said.

The campus hopes that the insights gained from this engagement will assist students in making well-informed decisions during their IA and IP selection process, ultimately enhancing their career readiness. – DANIEL LIM
