Over 60 women from various backgrounds celebrated International Women’s Day at the Santuauri Beachside Restaurant at Panaga Club on Monday.
Organised by the Friends United Network (FUN) club, a sub-section of the Panaga Club; the attending women were welcomed by the club’s chairperson Preety Tyagi.
Preety said the event was an opportunity for women to gather and mingle with each other in great spirit in celebration of International Women’s Day.
“It was a bright, sunny morning by the sea, with a group of international women spending some wonderful time together celebrating International Women’s Day,” added Preety.
The activities included inspirational speeches on womanhood and sisterhood, embracing equity, fun games and dancing, as well as a cake-cutting ceremony to commemorate the occasion.
Preety added that FUN is always focussed on finding talents and providing a platform by organising events and seminars for aspiring women and people from the community to showcase and share their skills, knowledge, and talents.
“More events to look forward to this year will be mainly based on culinary classes, health and fitness events, recreational opportunities, some educational events and some fun socialising events,” she added.
