Fun and games at charity carnival

Students form the seventh intake of the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Business of Cosmopolitan College of Commerce and Technology (CCCT) recently organised a Cosmo Charity Carnival in support of Society for the Management of Autism Related issues in Training, Education and Resources (SMARTER) Brunei at the Jerudong Park Garden.

Themed ‘Family Day’, the carnival featured fun activities and games.

SMARTER Brunei Acting President Pengiran Zamri bin Pengiran Haji Bujang, SMARTER Brunei Acting CEO Sharifah Adila Surya binti Malai Haji Abdullah and CCCT CEO Daniel Kumar were present during the opening ceremony.

The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa, followed by a welcoming speech from the college CEO.

He said the college encourages students to pro-active, and the carnival was testament to the students’ effort in exploring activities in practical manner.

Meanwhile, SMARTER Brunei Acting CEO said the event not only helped raise funds for the organisation, but it also built awareness on autism.

“SMARTER Brunei as an advocate for youth empowerment and inclusivity, is proud to be part of this event. Some of our students are also involved in selling coffee,” he added.

The event continued with the presentation of token of appreciations by Daniel Kumar to SMARTER Brunei and sponsors.

Apart from supporting SMARTER Brunei, the event aimed at fostering relations within the college’s community, increasing awareness on familial values, and promoting charitable pursuits.
