A woman required medical attention while hiking at Tasek Lama Recreational Park recently.
She was rescued by the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) last Monday after receiving the distress call at 5.45pm.
The rescue team comprising four fire personnel was led by DSO Haji Md Yunus from Operation ‘A’ Branch of the Bandar Seri Begawan Fire Station.
The team rushed to help the woman using a stretcher from the Bukit Jalan Berita located two kilometres from the park’s parking area.
The victim was handed over to paramedics for further examination.
The FRD reminded the public to check weather forecasts prior to hiking, avoid hiking late in the evening after 6pm, refrain from hiking alone, make sure to be in good health and to inform family members or friends where they are hiking. The FRD also advised the public to bring a whistle, lamp, mobile phones and water.
