    FRD removes slithery visitors

    James Kon

The Sungai Kebun Fire Station responded to a call at 3.49pm on Sunday, to remove two snakes from a property in Kampong Lumapas ‘B’.

Led by ABK 533 Muhd Muzri Adlee bin Haji Umar, the firefighters carefully removed a two-metre long python and a four-metre long cobra from the house compound.

Both reptiles were released in a habitat far away from residential areas.

The Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) warned that rat-infested and overgrown gardens are potential nesting areas for crocodiles, snakes and monitor lizards.

The public is advised not to approach or threaten wild animals, while keeping their doors and windows closed when not at home.

Contact the FRD hotline at 995 for animal-related emergencies.
