Firefighters yesterday acted swiftly to clear a 10-metre tall tree with a width of 30 centimetres which fell on the main road heading towards Kampong Kasat. No injuries were reported.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD), seven firefighters from Sungai Kebun Fire Station, led by ABK 560 Haji Ali bin Haji Md Noor, responded to an emergency call at 10.45am.
At the scene, firefighters found the tree on the road, blocking vehicles from heading in or out of the area.
Firefighters cut the tree with a chainsaw and cleared the debris from the road.
FRD reminded the public to be cautious about falling trees especially during unpredictable weather conditions and to avoid planting trees too close to residences.
The public is also advised against parking vehicles near trees, while house owners should trim tree branches regularly.
