Four foreign nationals were nabbed for committing immigration offences during operations around Mukim Pengkalan Batu and Mukim Sengkurong by the Law Enforcement Division of the Immigration and National Registration Department (INRD) yesterday.
The operation involving 21 INRD personnel first found a foreign woman at a farm house in Jalan Pengkalan Batu without any valid documents.
At a rental house in Kampong Mulaut, officers inspected two foreign nationals living in the house, and detained one of them for failing to show valid documents.
The last inspection was at a rental house at No 25, Jalan Lubok Sigurun in Kampong Mulaut, where two foreigners (a man and woman) were detained for the purpose of verifying identity documents.
All detainees have been brought to the Law Enforcement Division headquarters in Bandar Seri Begawan for investigation under Chapter 17 of the Immigration Act and Regulations.
The INRD said they will always conduct operations, arrest, investigate and take legal action against any person violating the law in accordance with the jurisdiction provided.
Any foreign national found committing an offence will be prosecuted and if convicted will be brought to court, imprisoned and deported to their country of origin and their names will be blacklisted. Patrols, operations and inspections are carried out based on information and cooperation from the public, which aim to enforce the Immigration Act and Regulations, Passport Act and Regulations, and the Anti Trafficking in Persons Order 2019, and any activities that are contrary to the laws and regulations in Brunei Darussalam.
