Fostering renewed hopes

Several prominent businessmen opened their doors to welcome well-wishers as they ushered in the new year of the rabbit with renewed vigour and hope. The Chinese community in the country marked the first day of the Lunar New Year yesterday after two years of muted celebrations due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Owner and sole proprietor of supermarket chain Sim Kim Huat (SKH) Department Store CK Lee held an open house to celebrate the new year with business associates, friends, families and SKH staff at Borneo Kopitiam Restaurant and Catering in Kampong Sungai Hanching.

CK Lee said he and his family were delighted to host the open house again after a pause in celebrations, offering the chance to foster renewed hopes for happiness, prosperity and longevity and an opportunity to forge better relationships. Invited guests were treated to an array of scrumptious delicacies.
