Fostering closer relationships

Head of Women’s Section of the Foochow Association of Kuala Belait Agnes Hwong expressed her delight that a recent gathering organised by her association was not only an opportunity to establish closer ties, but also to share experiences for the benefit of women and the community.

“We hope that as we gather here today, we will not only use this moment to form bonds as women of our respective associations; but also as platform to share our experiences and activities.”

The gathering was joined by over 100 female members of various associations in the country, including Hainan Association of Bandar Seri Begawan, led by Women’s Section Head Alice Lim, Hainan Association of Kuala Belait, led by Women’s Section Head Tang Hek Hua, and Keija Association, led by Women’s Section Head Chai Cham Fah.

Hwong briefed attendees on the history of the Foochow Association Kuala Belait which was established on October 5, 2001, and frequent activities conducted including charity events and visits to old folks home.The gathering also saw the introduction of the association’s committee members, presentation of plaques and tokens of appreciation to commemorate the event by association Chairperson Tan Tei Tei.
