Persatuan Kemajuan Insan (KESAN) held a ‘Build Your Strength’ forum on volunteerism with Leaders of Tomorrow Club from Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB).
Twenty-five participants from higher education institutions attended the event aimed at creating awareness on the importance of volunteerism in personal development and as a platform for non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to share their knowledge and experience.
The panellists were Nurlina Munirah binti Muhd Ali from Sealnet Project Brunei Youth Rise, Norsuziyani binti Abdullah from Projek FEED, Qabsah Munawarrah binti Alimunawar from Projek Bina Ukhwah and Muiz bin Jahair from Ash-Shaliheen Mosque Youth Group.
The forum included a roleplaying session featuring scenarios such as caring for the underprivileged, environmental sustainability and youth leadership.
The event was held in conjunction with Brunei’s 37th National Day to inspire more youth to become volunteers. Three more similar events will be held this year.
