Forty compete in Tamil Thiran Potti competition

THE Bandar Seri Begawan Indian Association (BSBIA) held a Tamil Thiran Potti competition at the Multipurpose Hall of the Youth Centre in the capital on Sunday.

Around 120 people, including 40 participants, attended the event held to mark Pongal Kalai Vizha.

The competition began with a welcoming speech by Chairman of Tamil Thiran Potti Murugesan followed by felicitation speeches from BSBIA President Ravichandran and guest of honour, President of Indian Association of Belait K Salim bin Abdul Karim.

The competition was divided into four categories – Thirukural Oppithal, Bharathiyar song, Fancy Dress and Story Telling.
