A local woman convicted of 13 charges of using forged documents as genuine was sentenced on Thursday to 32 months’ jail.
Norafizah binti Hapni claimed trial to the charges and was found guilty by the Intermediate Court.
Judge Radin Safiee bin Radin Mas Basiuni found the case proven by the prosecution beyond reasonable doubt.
The prosecution’s case revealed that the defendant, formerly an employee of the Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI), cashed out bank cheques in the name of AITI to just under BND60,000 between January and August 2015.
Messrs Ridzlan Lim Advocates and Solicitors represented the defendant.
