Former sixth form students of Jalan Muara intake 1975-1978 (PTE Jalan Muara) held the launch of 77 times Khatam Al-Quran ceremony.
The ceremony was held at Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque, Jalan Bebatik Kilanas.
The event was held to bless His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
Former minister at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Haji Apong who was a student of PTE Jalan Muara attended as a special guest along with 60 alumni.
The ceremony began with mass recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, led by Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali followed by Selawat Tafrijiyyah led by Mosque Affairs Officer of Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque Rozisham bin Haji Chuchu.
The ceremony continued with the reading of Al-Quran, from Surah Al-Baqarah Verses one to 25 led by Haji Yakub bin Haji Yussof and Pengiran Haji Yunos bin Pengiran Haji Salleh.
The event continued with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar, Doa Kesyukuran and Doa Pelihara kan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam. – Rokiah Mahmud
