The Law Enforcement Division of the Immigration and National Registration Department (INRD), together with other enforcement agencies, detained 26 foreign workers in its latest operations.
In a shop renovation project in Mukim Kuala Belait, two foreign nationals were arrested and taken to the Law Enforcement Division for further investigation; one foreigner was arrested for failure to submit valid documents and overstaying; and another for not working for the actual employer.
Meanwhile, in an operation carried out by the INRD, the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), the Land Transport Department (JPD) and the Labour Department at the Setenaga stalls in Mukim Sengkurong, 24 out of 100 foreign nationals inspected were arrested.
They were caught working for other employers and for not following the positions stated in their passports.
The RBPF also imposed a fine to an individual for having a car with a broken licence plate.
Meanwhile, the Labour Department found two individuals for not working in positions stated in their documents.
The JPD also recorded 14 offences during the operation.
