Foreign workers found violating Employment Order

Several violations were uncovered by the Labour Enforcement Division under the Labour Department in an operation codenamed Operasi Selongkar 17/2021 recently.

Five foreign workers designated as kitchen helpers and labourers were found selling food at a stall and working for another company, during an inspection in Jalan Pasir Berakas.

Meanwhile, an inspection on a car workshop in the housing area of Kampong Lambak Kanan found a foreign national holding a valid employment permit as construction and transportation labourer was employed to paint vehicles, which is a violation of Foreign Worker Licence Permit and misuse of the job position.

If found guilty, the offenders are liable to a fine of up to BND600 for the first offence and BND900 for the second offence, according to Section 86 and Section 112 of the Employment Order 2009.
