The love and admiration by parents need to be celebrated as this is a constant sight for families across the world, said Foochow Association Kuala Belait Chairman Tan Tei Tei.
He highlighted the importance of parents’ role and duty to protect, raise, and care for their children in a speech during the asscociation’s Parents’ Day celebration yesterday.
He said the event was not only for parents but the generations of parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents.
“Even if the children grow up to become parents, the love and duties still preside, and remain an important aspect of a family bond,” he said.
The event, organised by the association’s Women’s Section, was also attended by Fuzhou Shiyyi Association and Brunei Darussalam Hokkien Association members.
The celebration saw attendees participate in fun-filled activities and a cake-cutting ceremony to mark the occasion.
A performance from Sally Line Dance Group members, a prize presentation and a lucky draw were also held.
