An updated map of the COVID-19 hotspots in the Sultanate placed five mukims in the red zone and four others in the orange zone. The number of cases were recorded between January 30 and February 5.
An area is marked as a red zone should there be a detection of over 80 cases, while the orange zone is for those recording between 41 and 80 cases.
Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar yesterday said the five red zone areas are Mukim Serasa, Mukim Berakas ‘B’, Mukim Gadong ‘B’, Mukim Gadong ‘A’ and Mukim Sengkurong. Meanwhile, the four orange zone areas are Mukim Mentiri, Mukim Pengkalan Batu, Mukim Kilanas and Mukim Berakas ‘A’.
Compared to the last map, there has also been a reduction in the number of mukims free of COVID cases (green zone). The five green zone areas are Mukim Batu Apoi, Mukim Kuala Balai, Mukim Melilas, Mukim Bukit Sawat and Mukim Rambai.
