    Five local entrepreneurs receive scholarships

Founders of five local businesses will participate in the 2019 LBD Forum and Workshop from September 25-26 through scholarship grants from Progresif Cellular Sdn Bhd.

Chief representatives of Chynge, Hand4hand Brunei, Pixelated Asia, Think Axis and Super Squad Soccer will immerse in training on digital business strategy and business transformation delivered by subject matter experts, entrepreneurs and experienced practitioners from Brunei and abroad.

Themed ‘How to Leverage the Digital Revolution’, the 2019 LBD Forum on September 25 will bring together around 200 business figures, corporate executives, and government officials to discuss the business landscape in the digital age, competing and winning as digitisation becomes the new norm, and how to be resilient in the face of this unstoppable transformation.

Guest of honour, Minister of Transport and Infocommunications Dato Seri Setia Awang Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yusof will deliver the Opening Keynote Address on Brunei Darussalam’s journey towards a Smart Nation and the benefits.

The minister’s insights will be followed by perspectives on the different topics from highly knowledgeable international and local speakers, including Robert Schaffner, an author and expert on digital transformation; Dato’ Ghazali bin Dato’ Mohd Yussoff, Chairman, Nusantara Technologies, a powerful speaker on developing a positive mindset; and Dayu Dara Permata, Senior Vice President of Go-Jek and Head of Go-Life. They will be joined by a diverse group of Bruneian speakers and panellists, including dynamic local business founders who are creatively addressing challenges in health, education, transportation and human resource management.

On September 26, concurrent 2019 LBD Workshops will train the Progresif scholars and other participants in two areas – Workshop 1 on ‘Digital Strategy to Transform Your Business’ led by Robert Schaffner and Workshop 2 on ‘Customer Experience for the Business of the Future’ led by Santha Atmalingam, a customer experience thought leader, speaker, and trainer with over 20 years of experience in advising large and small enterprises and corporations across Southeast Asia.

Corporate Communications Manager of Progresif Cellular Hafiza binti Mohamad said, “Local entrepreneurship development is one of the pillars of Progresif’s community outreach, and we are delighted to give young and budding entrepreneurs this opportunity to strengthen their capabilities and improve their results along with industry leaders and guest speakers. The 2019 LBD Forum and Workshop will be an ideal vehicle.”
