Five members of the Belait District Basketball Association (BDBA) completed the Basketball Statistic Course, hosted by the Malaysia Basketball Association (MABA), on Monday.
The class provided participants lessons on implementing the many technologies available to gather players’ statistics, which will be made easily accessible to teams and coaches.
Participant Anabelle Tan said, “This can include the various types of penalties and fouls issued and at what time during the course of the match. This can be good as teams can use them to formulate their game plan and players can take advantage to hone their skills as players.”
Raymond Lee and KK Chan presented certificates to the course participants.
BDBA chairman Koo Kong Loi also expressed his joy at the success of the young officials, noting that their accomplishment is just one step in their journey.
“We will continue to improve the quality of the games matching international standards,” he said, adding that BDBA will be sending more to attend the MABA Table Official Level 1 course in October. – Daniel Lim
