Firefighters yesterday morning acted swiftly to clear fallen trees on Jalan Raya Delta 1 and Delta 2 heading towards Istana Hala Jerudong. No injuries were reported.
Four firefighters with a fire engine from Jerudong Fire Station, led by ASO Metusin bin Haji Menudin, responded to a call at 8.55am, according to the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD).
On arrival at Delta 1 road, firefighters discovered a fallen teak tree blocking the road.
Firefighters using two chainsaws cleared the 15-metre-tall and 25-centimetre-wide tree.
The firefighters then moved to Delta 2 road where part of the road was blocked by a fallen tree. Using two chainsaws, they cleared the seven-metre-tall and 15-centimetre-wide tree.
The FRD reminded the public to be on the lookout for falling trees, especially during unpredictable weather conditions and avoid planting trees close to home.
The public is advised not to park vehicles close to trees, and trim the branches regularly. The public can contact 995 during an emergency.
