A PRESENTATION of Zakat donations to help aid victims and families of house fire incidents in the Belait District took place at the Belait District branch of the Religious Affairs Office yesterday morning.

The recipients were Abdul Jabar bin Abdullah Beltran, 41, and Shahminan bin Sulaiman, 44, along with their families.

They received BND200 each.

A fire destroyed the entire ground floor of Abdul Jabar’s home, including the living room and kitchen, at Jalan Teripas, RPN Kampong Pandan, Seria on February 1.

A fire at the Barrack Block 700 of Jalan Singa Menteri, Kuala Belait destroyed Shahminan’s home on February 2.

They are temporarily residing at the Barrack at Jalan Dermawangsa, Mumong Bypass, Kuala Belait. Shahminan’s family received BND800 as well as a school bag for his children.

According to a press release, the distribution of the Zakat donation is hoped to help lessen the burden of the victims and their families, and is a reminder to the public to be vigilant to avoid disasters.
