The Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) conducted outreach programmes to better promote fire readiness among members of various institutions recently.

‘Life Saver 995’ talk by the FRD was held last Tuesday for participants from Malam Minggu Pusat Belia, Youth Development Centre, Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE), LiveWire Brunei and Dart.

The briefing aimed to enhance awareness on the dangers of fire as well as inculcate a sense of responsibility on the aspects of fire safety.

Meanwhile, 108 teachers and students of Institut Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah also received a similar talk from the FRD.

According to the FRD, the safety talk as well as their Fire Marshal courses were part of their programmes to increase public awareness of what to do when it comes to facing a fire emergency, such as the proper way of using a fire extingusher.
