MASHHOR General Contractor Sdn Bhd (MGCSB) recently conducted an emergency drill exercise, Operasi Kerjasama at its main office in Seria as part of its continuous effort to highlight the importance of safety among its staff members.
Led by MGCSB Corporate General Manager Malai Shamil Faris bin (Dr) Haji Malai Abdul Hamid and the Emergency Crisis Coordinator Mohd Rizal bin Dr Haji Latif the operation, comprising four separate simulated scenarios, was conducted to not only test the effectiveness of the procedures in the site’s emergency response, but also to practise the adeptness of the company’s Fire Marshall, First Aider and staff members in various emergency situations.
The campaign also saw participation from the Seria Fire Station led by its Commander Muhammad Ali bin Hassan, Emergency Medical Ambulance Services (EMAS) Team led by its Head Haji Shahrin bin Haji Jumat, and Seria Police Station led by Staff Sergeant 2693Umpor anak Ranggau as well as the company’s client from AMEC Foster Wheeler in ensuring that the operation was carried out in the most realistic manner.
Senior Superintendent of Fire and Rescue (SSFR) Muhd Shahreeni bin Haji Yusof, Commanding Officer of the Operation ‘B’ Branch of Fire and Rescue Department and Assistant Superintendent Zulkeflee bin Ali Mas also oversaw the operation.
The exercise was also an opportunity to further strengthen the safety system, as the company seeks to implement various alternative systems such as Flexi Horn, Manual Siren and whistle to alert everybody about emergency situations.
The emergency drill exercise represented the third quarterly activity as part of the Company’s Corporate QHSSE Plan 2018 requirement.
Mashhor will continue to organise similar emergency drill exercises every year.
