A massive fire destroyed a foreign workers’ quarters, a storage area and a nearby house in Kampong Mulaut on Friday morning. The fire was kept under control in 10 minutes. No fatalities or injuries were reported.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD), 25 firefighters from Jerudong, Pengkalan Batu, Beribi and Bandar Seri Begawan fire stations, led by Acting DSO Isa bin Haji Ahad, were dispatched to the scene.
Firefighters found a huge blaze engulfing a foreign workers’ quarters and a storage area.
The fire then spread to a bungalow nearby, and destroyed several vehicles in the vicinity.
The residents were evacuated before the firefighters arrived.
The cause of the fire and estimated losses from the damages are under investigation.
