A local woman found in possession of smuggled cigarettes at her residence was ordered to settle a BND8,000 fine by the Magistrate’s Court on Monday. Acting Senior Magistrate Dewi Norlelawati binti Haji Abdul Hamid ordered 64-year-old Sokot @ Siti Nurkhairiyah Sorhana binti Abdul Rani to serve eight months’ jail in default of payment after she pleaded guilty to possession of 10 cartons of cigarettes of various brands.
