Three families whose homes were damaged by strong winds on July 10 and 17 as well as a family who lost all their belongings in a fire on July 27 received financial assistance from the Government of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni
Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam through the Community Development Department (JAPEM) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) yesterday.
Acting Deputy Director of JAPEM Mirany Floridzah binti Abdul Rahman presented the financial assistance to the heads of the families at An-Nur meeting room at the MCYS.
The houses at Kampong Masin, Kampong Junjongan and Kampong Saba Darat ‘A’ were damaged by strong winds. No injuries were reported.
The house in Kampong Telisai was destroyed by the fire and the family’s belongings were lost, including a vehicle. No injuries were reported.
The financial assistance was aimed at easing the burdens of the families and helping them in their daily lives. It also demonstrated the government’s care for the Bruneian people affected by unfortunate circumstances.
