A Filipino woman embraced Islam at a ceremony at a hotel in Kiulap.

Legislative Council (LegCo) member Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Adanan bin Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Mohd Yusof was the guest of honour. The ceremony began with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by the recitation of Syahadah by Safiyah Hasanah,
It proceeded with the guest of honour presenting a gift to the new convert accompanied by Dikir Marhaban followed by the recitation of Doa Selamat.
