A father and daughter accused with assaulting Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officers and damaging the bureau’s vehicle denied the charges in the Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
Magistrate Dewi Norlelawati binti Haji Abdul Hamid adjourned the case to March 18 for trial dates to be fixed in the case involving Haji Shahrum bin Haji Shahbudin, 68, and Norshahiela binti Haji Shahrum, 31.
Haji Shahrum is alleged to have choked and pushed a male officer in Kampong Jangsak, Gadong at 3.06pm on February 16.
He is also alleged to have assaulted the officer by repeatedly hitting the front bonnet of the bureau’s vehicle while the officer was seated inside.
Norshahiela, meanwhile, is alleged to have assaulted the officer and two of his female colleagues by repeatedly hitting the bureau’s vehicle with a broomstick. She is also said to have caused mischief by damaging the bureau’s vehicle.
Defence counsel Rozaiman Abdul Rahman is representing the defendants while Deputy Public Prosecutor Raihan Nabilah binti Haji Ahmad Ghazali prosecuted.
