Farewell dinner for outgoing Myanmar ambassador

The Diplomatic Corps held a farewell dinner for outgoing Ambassador of Myanmar to Brunei Darussalam U Htin Lynn at the Radisson Hotel in the capital yesterday.

In his welcoming remarks, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of Oman to Brunei Darussalam Sheikh Ahmed bin Hashel Al-Maskari, on behalf of the diplomatic community, congratulated the envoy for his productive tenure.

“I would like to congratulate U Htin Lynn, on behalf of the diplomatic corps for your productive tenure in this beautiful Abode of Peace, as evident in the growing ties between Myanmar and Brunei,” he said.

Meanwhile, the outgoing envoy extended his appreciation to His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, members of the royal family, the Government of Brunei Darussalam and the Diplomatic Corps who extended cooperation and support during his tenure in the Sultanate.

The dean and his spouse presented a bouquet of flowers on behalf of the Diplomatic Corps to the outgoing envoy and his spouse.

U Htin Lynn presented his Letter of Credence to His Majesty on July 7, 2018.
