A 30-metre-tall tree fell on the road blocking traffic in front of Kampong Puni Mosque, Temburong District on Friday afternoon.

ABKS 61 Jeludin bin Haji Hamdan responded to the incident with five firefighters and a fire engine from Bangar Fire Station after receiving an emergency call at 5.47pm.

On arrival, the firefighters found an uprooted fruit tree that blocked the main road.

The firefighters with the Public Works Department contractors took around one hour and 40 minutes to cut and move the debris.

Bangar Fire Station Commander Acting ASFR Jamaludin bin Ahmad observed the operation.

FRD reminded the public to be cautious about falling trees especially during unpredictable weather conditions and to avoid planting trees close to residences.

The public is also advised against parking vehicles near trees, while house owners should trim tree branches regularly.
