Brunei Darussalam will begin to enter the inter-monsoon season, which is the transition period after the southwest monsoon and before entering the northeast monsoon. The inter-monsoon period is expected to last until the end of November, said the Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department.
Throughout this period, local wind effect plays a significant role in governing the Sultanate’s daily weather. Based on the department’s climatological records, thunderstorms are more frequent during the inter-monsoon period compared to other months of the year.
On average, the rainy days for October is 21 days, while November records 22 days.
Throughout this period, the country generally experiences fair weather in the morning. The Sultanate has the chance of isolated coastal showers around midday; thunderstorms especially over the inland areas in the afternoon, spreading and affecting coastal and sea areas at night, and may persist to early morning of the following day.
Light winds will blow from variable directions in the morning and at night, and from northwest in the afternoon and night; and the wave condition at sea is generally at slight state.
