Exhibition marks Prisons Department’s 66th anniversary

It was a special occasion for the Prisons Department when His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam visited the department’s exhibition booth on the very day of its 66th anniversary (March 1).

After joining thousands of cyclists for the Semangat Kebangsaan 2020 Recreational Cycling yesterday, in conjunction with the 36th National Day celebration, His Majesty and members of the royal family toured the exhibitions and activities on display at the Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien

His Majesty visited exhibition booths of various ministries and departments, as well as the private sector.

At the Prisons Department’s exhibition, His Majesty and members of the royal family were welcomed by Acting Director of the Prisons Department Haji Muhammad Isamuddin bin Abdullah Juna and several other officials.

His Majesty consented to sign on the Unity Run 2020 patch, and then witnessed a display of lifesaving techniques and the department’s full riot gear. The Unity Run 2020, which is the fourth Reintegration Run organised by the Prisons Department, is scheduled for June 21 at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien, to raise funds for projects under the Rakan Seliaan programme. Members of the public are welcome to join the 11km Open category (male and female) and the 11km Veteran category (male and female), as well as the 5km Fun Run.
