The Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) honoured the Muara Fire Station with the Exemplary Station Award during its 62nd anniversary celebration at the Fire and Rescue Headquarters on Thursday.
Themed ‘Fire Safety is a Shared Responsibility’, the FRD hopes to improve the aspects of safety, awareness and fire hazards, which will reduce the rate of incidents and losses of property and life.
Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong was the guest of honour.
Acting Director of Fire and Rescue Lim Hock Guan greeted the minister’s arrival, along with the commander’s salute, followed by an inspection of the 32-person honour guard parade.
The minister also presented the Community Appreciation Award to six recipients, signed a memento and received a souvenir from the acting director of fire and rescue.
Permanent Secretary (Security, Welfare and Law) at the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) Mohd Amir Hairil bin Haji Mahmud, the Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Security and Welfare) at the MoHA, heads of department and senior officers at MoHA, penghulus and village heads were also present.
