Event promotes Malay Language, MIB among students

A TOTAL of 265 students of Kampong Mata-Mata Primary School (SRKMM) attended the Seronoknya Bahasa & Budaya Kita event held at the school’s Al-Barakah Hall yesterday.

The event – held in conjunction with the Malay Language and Malay Islamic Monarchy (MIB) Subject Month – was organised by the school along with officers and staff members from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) and departments under it.

Acting Director of Language and Literature Bureau (DBP) Suip bin Haji Abdul Wahab was the guest of honour.

The event began with a mass recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Ustaz Ahmad Nasri bin Haji Mohaimin followed by the singing of the national anthem.

The event also saw various traditional songs and dance performances from Year 1, 2, 3 and 4 students as well as booths and demonstrations from various government agencies.

The event aimed to instill love for the Malay Language and MIB among young students.

Cluster I Officer Haji Affendy bin Haji Mohd Kassim; and a delegation of 70 people comprising SRKMM’s Headmistress, assisting teachers as well as students from eight schools of Cluster I including Dato Ratna Haji Mohd Jaafar Primary School, Katok A Primary School, Pintu Malim Primary School, Pusar Ulak Primary School and Pengiran Pekerma Setia Diraja Sahibul Bandar Mata-Mata Primary School were also present.
