Thirty-seven English language teachers and CfBT peer mentors received certificates after completing a symposium on teaching English as a second language.

CfBT Education Services Country Manager Dominic Morley said the CfBT-led capacity-building initiative aims to facilitate the development and sharing of teaching English as a second language knowledge and skills between CfBT teachers and Bruneian teachers via a lesson study approach.

“This method of professional development emphasises peer collaboration, observation and feedback and draws upon the strengths and experiences of both our CfBT teachers and their Bruneian colleagues to collectively strengthen teaching to ensure the best educational outcomes for their students,” he said.

Permanent Secretary (Core Education) at the Ministry of Education Dr Shamsiah Zuraini Kanchanawati binti Haji Tajuddin was the guest of honour.
