Eight caught out of home, latest COVID numbers rise

Enforcement personnel yesterday caught eight violators of the stay-at-home directive from midnight to 4am, recorded one violation of not wearing a face mask and another for not having the BruHealth app.

The local offenders were Sapli bin Haji Kadar and Md Wafi bin Salim and the foreign offenders were Md Shirajul Islam, Samin Miah, Mohammad Mamun, Md Kabir Hossain, Md Burhan Uddin and Md Zaidul Islam said the Royal Brunei Police Force, adding they were found all in the Brunei-Muara District.

Meanwhile, the country recorded 628 new COVID-19 cases yesterday, comprising 617 local and 11 imported cases, bringing the number of active cases in the country to 2957 and total cases to 19473.

One hundred and twenty four cases recovered, while the bed occupancy rate at isolation centres is at 35.2 per cent.

There are currently three cases in Category 4 who in need of oxygen assistance and under close observation.
