SIX teachers and 29 students from Berakas Secondary School’s (SMB) Geography Club visited the Wasan paddy field in Kampong Wasan recently.
The group was welcomed and briefed upon arrival by Shahfrien bin Haji Mohd Said before touring the paddy field that included harvesting and drying Sembada and MRQ paddy using modern methods.
The educational visit was part of a Co-Curriculum Activity (CCA) organised by the school’s Geography Club to understand the farmers’ initiatives in promoting modern farming in Brunei Darussalam.
It also gave an opportunity to the students to see and experience the activities carried out at the farm and support local farmers.
SMB Geography Club comprises Geography teachers and students from Year 11 for their CCA. The club provides a platform for the teachers to organise activities and share information to students to increase their knowledge.
