Eatery offers free ‘nasi kerabu’, iced tea for patriotic customers

KOTA BHARU (BERNAMA) – An eatery operator at Pasir Tumboh Old Market is offering free nasi kerabu and iced tea to her customers who could answer riddles revolving around Malaysia’s National Day.

Kak Anne Restaurant operator Noraini Mohamed, 41, said hopefully, the offer could instil the patriotic spirit among customers while enlivening the National Day celebration.

“Each day until August 31, three customers will be randomly selected, asked general knowledge and history questions revolving around National Day.

“Customers who answer the questions correctly will be served nasi kerabu and iced tea for free at my eatery.”

Noraini said this to reporters while installing the national flag Jalur Gemilang at her shop which was also assisted by the non-governmental organisation, Team Sahabat Mann 23 Jam.

Asked on the installation of the Jalur Gemilang, Noraini said she had allocated RM1,500 to buy the flags and banners.

“We are pumped up, what more with the ‘Team Sahabat Mann 23 Jam’ team here to help us promote the shop’s business after it was closed for a long time due to the COVID-19 pandemic and has only re-opened since a week ago,” said Noraini who runs the business with her husband, Azmi Ismail, 47.

Meanwhile, Team Sahabat Mann 23 Jam Committee member, Mohd Azman Mohd Ghani said his team helped decorate the shop to assist in attracting customers.
