Boustead Sdn Bhd, the sole distributor of Suzuki automotive in Brunei Darussalam, hosted a dynamic drive event for their first 20 customers of the newly launched Suzuki Swift Sport and members of the Swift Sport Club at the Jerudong Park (JP) Go Kart F1 Track yesterday.

Suzuki Sales Executive Wang Kai Choon said they exceeded their sales expectation of the new model, and due to this, Boustead Sdn Bhd invited the new Swift owners to experience driving on a go-kart track as a gesture for their continuous support of the brand.

“The new Suzuki Swift Sport is well known for its easy and flexible tailoring to suit individual’s preference. It is also a very fun car to drive for your daily commuting or on a circuit track.

The model gets a lot of praise from our customers who took the opportunity to take it for a spin on the road after it was launched in November,” Wang said.

Boustead Sdn Bhd Executive Manager Lim Jin Lee officiated the dynamic drive event.

The new Suzuki Swift Sport is powered by a 1.4-litre turbo (Boosterjet) engine, producing an impressive torque of 230Nm. It comes with a six-speed manual and automatic transmission.

For the dynamic driving on the track itself, the guests were provided with the manual version of the model, which claimed to be able to harness maximum potential of the Swift Sport due to its outstanding responsiveness and agility.

The cabin is designed with ultimate sportiness and comfort for the driver with the red-to-black accents on the panels and semi-bucket seats with red stitching embossed with the ‘Sport’ logo. The seats are sculpted to provide ample lateral support and stiffness which optimise the feel for the road, even in high-speed turns.

Staying true to its brand’s promise, the drive on the track showcased the new Suzuki Swift Sport’s agility, giving exciting, thrilling, and comfortable rides for the driver and passengers.

With the suspension system engineered by Monroe® Shocks and Struts, consisting of Macpherson strut on the front suspension and torsion beam rear suspension with specifically designed trailing arm, it has dramatically enhanced the system to provide clear feedback regarding road and traction conditions, as well as a drastic reduction in the body roll effect at tight corners.

The overall performance of the Swift Sport is greatly improved with the implementation of HEARTECT, Suzuki’s new generation platform which increases the underbody stiffness with a significant reduction in kerb weight to only 970 kilogrammes in comparison to its predecessor which weighs more than a tonne.

Global reviews showed that the new Swift Sport is not only a fun car to drive but it is also a fun car to tailor. Displayed at the JP Go Kart F1 Track, guests had a closer look at the HKS version of the new Swift Sport.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the event was closed to the public. For information, visit the Suzuki Showroom in Beribi, Gadong and Kuala Belait.
