Two Dusun siblings have chosen Islam as their way of life during a conversion ceremony at Pusat Bahagia Hall in Tutong yesterday.
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad was the guest of honour.
Permanent Secretary (Community) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Hajah Nor Ashikin binti Haji Johari; Director of Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) Haji Abdul Rajid bin Haji Mohd Salleh; and Acting Director of Community Development Department Pengiran Siti Rahmah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh were also in attendance.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by the mosque affairs officer followed by the recitation of Al-Quran by a trainer from the Tutong Happiness Centre.
It proceeded with the recitation of Syahadah by Shahrul Nizam bin Sulaiman and his sister Nurul Shahniza binti Sulaiman.
The ceremony was held in the presence of officers from the Dakwah Development Division (Tutong District Dakwah Unit) of the PDI.
The event was enlivened with a Dikir Marhaban, the sprinkling of scented flowers, the presentation of souvenirs from Pusat Bahagia and PDI to the siblings by the guest of honour and concluded with a Doa Selamat.
