A TOTAL of 38 orphans and children of underprivileged families residing within the Kampong Panchor Mengkubau National Housing Scheme (RPN)received donations in the form of back-to-school supplies recently.
Brunei Darussalam Women Graduates Association President Pengiran Hajah Zabaidah binti Pengiran Haji Kamaludin handed over the donations.
Speaking at the event, Head of the Women’s Bureau of RPN Kampong Panchor Mengkubau Village Consultative Council (MPK) Hajah Mardini binti Haji Mod Noor expressed delight at the successful return of the charitable project, dubbed ‘Drop Box – Back to School’ this year. It received overwhelming response from the public.
She hoped the project will encourage the young recipients to study harder in achieving academic excellence.
She said the project helps foster relations between the MPK Committee members and families of the recipients. The project is an initiative of the Women’s Bureau of MPK RPN Kampong Panchor Mengkubau to ease the burden of underprivileged families in preparing for their children’s school needs.
Deputy Chairman of the MPK RPN Kampong Panchor Mengkubau Haji Hairul Azri bin Haji Salamat, Women’s Bureau members and other guests also attended.
