The authorities recently reported that the number of road accidents has been on the increase. It is not hard to see who the main culprits are – the ones who can’t seem to get their hands off the phone while driving.
I was driving down the highway the other day when I was overtaken by a driver who was checking his phone at the time of the manoeuvre. The sight was so disturbing that I had to slow down just to create some distance between our cars.
With mobile phones being a staple, it is hard to imagine a moment without checking for new text messages or social media notifications. But there has to be a way to get through these irresponsible drivers that keeping their eyes off the road could have very grave consequences.
