A FULL dress rehearsal for the Setia Kawan III joint military exercise between the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) and the Royal Navy was held at Binturan Shooting Range, Penanjong Garrison, Tutong District yesterday.

Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud observed the rehearsal.

Vice Admiral Ben Key CBE Royal Navy, United Kingdom’s Fleet Commander was also present.

The rehearsal was carried out as a final preparation for the special demonstration before the actual event to ensure its smooth running.

The Setia Kawan III Exercise, which will be held today, is set to be one of the most eagerly anticipated joint amphibious landing exercises in recent Brunei military history, and is a reflection of the UK’s strong bilateral relationship with Brunei, especially in the area of defence.

The Royal Navy’s flagship HMS Albion will be the focus of the demonstration, along with a deployment of special forces and military capabilities from both nations.
