DPMM FC kicked off their pre-season tour in Cambodia on a winning note after a 2-1 victory over Visakha FC at the Visakha Stadium in Phnom Penh yesterday.

Goals by Azwan Salleh and Abdul Azizi Ali Rahman ensured victory for the Gegar Gegar men against last season’s Cambodian League runners-up.

The Singapore Premier League titleholders will conclude their six-day tour tomorrow against Cambodian champions PKR Svay Rieng FC at the EDC Stadium.

DPMM FC will begin their campaign in the Community Shield against Tampines Rovers FC on February 22, while this season has already been up and running for Svay Rieng owing to their commitment in the AFC Cup.

The Cambodia-based outfit reached the main draw of the Asian second tier after a 7-1 aggregate win over Laos’ Master 7.

Svay Rieng have been drawn in Group ‘G’ alongside Indonesian champions Bali United, Filipino champions Ceres-Negros and Vietnam’s Than Quang Ninh. They will play Bali United in their first group game on February 11.

Adrian Pennock’s charges will begin their title defence against Home United away on February 29 in the Singapore Premier League while their Cambodian counterparts entertain Soltilo Angkor on February 16 at home for their opening league fixture of the season.
