DPMM FC slipped to a 3-2 loss in the hands of Balestier Khalsa in the Singapore Premier League 2023 at the Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore last night.
The hosts took the lead through Shuhei Hoshino on the half an hour mark after Ryoya Taniguchi’s effort had fallen into his path.
DPMM FC replied through young forward Hakeme Yazid Said’s brilliant curler a minute after the restart.
However, the Tigers swiftly retook the lead three minutes later with Daniel Goh beating DPMM FC goalkeeper Haimie Anak Nyaring in the near post.
Balestier Khalsa, who were looking to extend their unbeaten run to three, doubled their cushion as Masahiro Sugita slotted home with a cool finish following an assist by Taniguchi.
The Brunei-based outfit had a lifeline to rescue a point when Hakeme Yazid netted his second of the evening, but Balestier Khalsa held firmly for the win.
